Although it's too early to say, but I'll say it anyway. My dad was right. Everything solves itself. 

 

My dad's job contract got extended by another month. And we might have found him a smaller and cheaper apartment. And everything I fought and fussed about weeks ago was just unnecessary. It all just solved itself. By the smallest detail. My mum won't return until after my move out, hence avoiding an unpleasant encounter between my mum and dad. If everything goes on smoothly, we might even be able to use the same rental van to move both my stuff and my dad's. That's a bit of a stretch, but I like the thought.
