We are losing an entire year to this pandemic. In the beginning, I was panicking. I felt like I was running out of time. Yet now, I try and learn patience on a complete other level that I've ever experienced. As with gratitude.

My dad's financial state has been a hard and prolonged fight. And we make it by the hair every step we take. I'm grateful for that. My brother finally got enrolled to his school. I'm grateful for that. My mum is, if anything, healthy. I'm grateful for that. I thank God, and could not wish for more.

Do you know, what I find strange? That people consider their relation to God as a give-take situation - a relation of exchangable services. You pray or sacrifice to God for things you want; if you are kind or behave in a certain way, then God will reward you with treasures.

God is life, and life owe you nothing. Life can be generous and it can be cruel. There is no balance or justice to uphold in life. Some people suffer and some people thrive, whether they are decent, vile, or indifferent. Life doesn't compromise, favour nor discriminate. Life is just a string of events that occur, as the result of other events at a random pattern. That's what makes life so powerful, for it cannot be tampered with - even if we very much would like to believe so.

And we ought to strive after the image of God - to be uncompromised, unfaltering and be invariently undisturbed in our ways despite any displeasures and temptations. To know thyself and achieve an understanding for your own being, and find peace in the being you were given to be.
